MAD MAX SATURDAY NIGHTS

Max Rockatansky (Mel Gibson) returns as the heroic loner who drives the dusty roads of a postapocalyptic Australian Outback in an unending search for gasoline. Arrayed against him and the other scraggly defendants of a fuel-depot encampment are the bizarre warriors commanded by the charismatic Lord Humungus, a violent leader whose scruples are as barren as the surrounding landscape.

After the first Mad Max film was a hit, George Miller made the sequel Mad Max 2, released in the US as The Road Warrior. If the first introduced Gibson to worldwide audiences, the second made him a superstar. Once again there was wild action, cool cars, and unique villains. Max now has to fight a bodybuilder in a hockey mask named Lord Humungus (Kjell Nilsson), who is incredibly charismatic, he just wants to help you out although there may be some quick torture. His lieutenant is another badass with a mohawk, the biker warrior Wez (Vernon Wells), leading a gang of S&M leather enthusiasts to later get the nod of "diesel punk" as they'll do anything for the gas. It's more roller-coaster fun, and oddly predicts climate change catastrophe.
